Costume Contest

Do you have a costume you’re really proud of? Can you personify your favorite gaming character? Do you want to share what you’re passionate about with the world? Whether or not you made your costume, this is the contest for you! Here you will find all the information about how our contest is run, the rules involved, and the information you need to submit to reserve a place in the show! 

Show Details: This event will be held on the stage on the 2nd floor from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. the day of the event. You can reserve a guaranteed spot in the contest by filling out the form linked below. You may enter a solo costume or as a group costume. The deadline to reserve a spot in the contest is Friday, March 28 at 11:59 p.m. - after this time, you will need to sign up for a spot in the contest by going to the north side of the 2nd floor any time until 12 p.m.

There are 3 costume categories:

  • Handmade - Your costume must be at least 50% handmade by your own crafting skills. 
  • Assembled - Your costume was purchased or you combined purchased items to create a costume - less than 50% handmade 
  • Youth - All types of costumes, only individuals 15 years old or younger may sign up for this category (and should be accompanied by an adult backstage for the contest)

When your submission has been accepted into the contest, you will receive a confirmation from our team letting you know further details.

Awards:  There will be 1 winner in each category, as well as a grand prize for the Best in Show!

$250 - Best in Show
$200 - Handmade
$150 - Assembled
$100 - Youth

The Clandestine Quill

The Clandestine Quill is a cosplay veteran with 18 years of experience. She blends her love of costuming, writing, and performing to bring fiction to life.

Troy Alan Larson

Since 2005, Troy Alan Larson has worked in several different areas of the special effects industry, from costumes and masks to prosthetics and large-scale suits as well as puppets and animatronics. Most notably, he did the creature suits, props and created the special makeup effects for Deadstream as well as V:H:S 99 and was even nominated for a chainsaw award for the latter. He loves to teach and showcase the process involved in creating these various pieces.

Kbeezcozplay

Kbeezcozplay started cosplaying a little over 10 years ago, and has learned so much. She continuously finds new techniques to learn and has competed at various events. She learned how to sew from her mom when she was younger, and the rest was history. Her passion is costume and prop replication, but she is also loves to do mashups/twists on popular characters as well (such as Steampunk and genderbent creations).
